Kevin Hart stars in 72 Hours, a new Netflix comedy arriving July 24, 2026. The film follows a 40-year-old executive whose career is failing. Desperate to stay relevant, he gets accidentally added to a group text for a wild three-day bachelor party with twentysomethings. What should be a quick mistake becomes a weekend Hart can’t escape.
Director Tim Story brings the comedy, known for his work on Barbershop, Think Like a Man, and Ride Along. The cast includes Marcello Hernández from SNL, Mason Gooding, Kam Patterson, Ben Marshall, Zach Cherry, Michael Mando, Mike Epps, and Teyana Taylor. The script comes from the creators of Cobra Kai, bringing sharp writing to the age-gap comedy premise.
The Setup and Cast Chemistry
Hart’s character represents every executive worried about obsolescence. When younger colleagues invite him (by mistake) to their celebration, he sees a chance to prove he can still hang. The collision between his desperation to fit in and the younger men’s genuine confidence drives the film’s humor.
The ensemble cast brings comedy from different angles. Hernández provides SNL-trained sketch comedy timing. Epps adds a seasoned performer’s presence. Gooding and the others represent the generational confidence Hart’s character is chasing.
Netflix Release Strategy
The film becomes available at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT on July 24. Like most Netflix originals, it will be available in all territories simultaneously, giving global audiences access on the same day.
Hart has built his career on bringing absurd situations and self-aware humor together. 72 Hours plays to his strengths.
