Kinetic DX Electric Scooter Gets a Larger Battery in India

By Saleh MohammadSeptember 9, 20262 Mins Read

Kinetic has updated its DX electric scooter range in India with larger lithium-iron-phosphate battery packs and a higher claimed range for the DX+ version. Autocar Professional placed the update among its current electric-vehicle coverage, while ETAuto, India Today and Autocar India report the battery sizes, prices and performance figures.

The standard DX now uses a 3.0kWh LFP battery, while the DX+ receives a 3.1kWh pack. Kinetic pairs both scooters with a 3.8kW hub motor. The DX+ is rated for up to 132km under the Indian Driving Cycle, while reports place likely real-world distance closer to a lower range that will vary with speed, rider weight, traffic and weather.

Charging is handled through the scooter’s onboard system. Reports say the battery can reach 80 percent in about three hours, although the final time depends on the charging conditions and the remaining battery level. The scooters also offer Range and Power riding modes, allowing riders to choose between softer energy use and stronger response.

Price is another change in the updated range. ETAuto reports an ex-showroom price of Rs 1,18,599 for the DX and Rs 1,27,650 for the DX+. These are listed before registration, insurance, local fees and any applicable state incentives. On-road prices can therefore be different from the headline figures used in launch coverage.

The LFP chemistry is relevant for buyers who care about routine charging and long-term use. It is generally associated with a stable cycle life, but the battery warranty, service plan and replacement cost remain just as important as the chemistry itself. The available reports do not establish how the revised packs will perform after years of daily charging.

Kinetic’s update is aimed at making the DX range more useful for longer urban trips without changing the scooter’s basic role. The claimed figure provides a comparison point, not a guarantee for every commute. Prospective buyers should check the latest dealer information for delivery timing, warranty terms, available colors and the final price in their city before making a purchase decision.
