Motorola is bringing the Razr 70 and Razr 70 Ultra to India in July 2026. Global pricing starts at $799.99 for the standard model and $1,099.99 for the Ultra. Indian pricing is expected to be Rs 70,000–Rs 80,000 for the Razr 70 and Rs 95,000–Rs 1.1 lakh for the Ultra.
Both phones feature a 6.9-inch AMOLED inner display powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7450X chipset. The Razr 70 Ultra ups the game with a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, and 3000 nits peak brightness. The cover screen is 3.6 inches with HDR10+ and 90Hz refresh rate.
The Largest Flip Phone Cover Screen
Motorola claims the Razr 70 Ultra has the largest cover screen ever put on a flip phone. The 3.6-inch outer display means you can actually do real work on the cover screen, not just check notifications. That’s a shift from earlier flip designs.
The inner display’s 4:3 aspect ratio is designed to maximize viewing area when the phone opens. Motorola spent time on hinge engineering. The crease is reportedly less pronounced than competitors’ folds.
The India Strategy
Premium foldables are still a niche in India. The market is price-conscious. But there’s a segment of professionals and early adopters willing to pay for the latest tech. Motorola is betting they can capture that segment.
Preorders should open July 2026. Shipments likely start mid-to-late July or early August. Early adopters in major cities will be first to get their hands on the phone.
Competition in India
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 launches the same day globally (July 22). Samsung has brand dominance in India’s premium smartphone market. Motorola is the challenger, trying to grab mindshare from existing foldable users.
The Razr 70’s cover screen is its differentiator. If that screen makes the phone genuinely usable when folded, Motorola has something.
