Myles Smith released his debut studio album, My Mess, My Heart, My Life, on June 19, completing a rise from unsigned songwriter to one of the most-streamed British artists of the past two years. The album contains 15 tracks and runs 46 minutes, built around his breakout single Stargazing, which became the biggest song by a UK artist globally in 2024.

The record also includes Nice to Meet You, Gold, Stay (If You Wanna Dance), and Drive Safe, a collaboration with Niall Horan. All five had previously charted in the UK Official Top 40, an unusual achievement for a debut artist releasing individual tracks before an album exists. Smith signed with RCA Records after accumulating more than a billion streams independently, without a label deal.
Rolling Stone UK reviewed the album as “soul-baring honesty from Britain’s newest star,” pointing to Smith’s willingness to write about personal struggle without softening it into generic pop. The record is accompanied by a 2026 arena tour, a significant step up from the club venues where Smith spent the early part of his career.
Smith, from Crowborough in East Sussex, spent years writing songs without a label before Stargazing began spreading on streaming platforms in late 2023. The song’s success was driven largely by word of mouth rather than a traditional promotional campaign. He won the BRIT Awards Rising Star award earlier this year.
The album is now available on all major streaming platforms. The arena tour begins later this summer and runs through autumn. Smith’s management has described the arena dates as a response to demand that outgrew the original tour routing planned before the album was finished.
ABC News called the record “anthemic, personal pop,” a description that lines up with how the artist has spoken about the writing process in interviews. Fans who discovered Smith through Stargazing will find the album expands the emotional register of that song rather than chasing the same formula. For anyone tracking British music this summer, My Mess, My Heart, My Life is the debut most worth paying attention to.
