OnePlus 16 launch plans have shifted to October, a month later than earlier reports suggested, according to tipster Digital Chat Station. The delay comes as fresh leaks reveal the phone’s design and core specifications.
The phone is expected to run on Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, paired with a 9,000mAh battery, a significant jump for a flagship-class device.
Design and Display Details
Leaked renders show the OnePlus 16 keeping a similar design language to the OnePlus 15, including a square camera module. The 6.78-inch OLED display gets ultra-narrow bezels, each measuring less than 1mm, alongside a 185Hz refresh rate.
That refresh rate would be among the highest on any mainstream flagship, aimed squarely at mobile gamers and buyers who care about scrolling smoothness over battery savings.
Camera Setup and Market Availability
The rear camera system is expected to include a 200MP main sensor with a 1/1.4-inch chip, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom.
Availability remains the catch. Following OnePlus’s exit from European and US markets, the OnePlus 16 is tipped to launch first in China, with a global rollout to follow later. Buyers in North America and Europe may need to wait, or look elsewhere.
OnePlus is chasing camera and display specs that rival any flagship on the market, but the real story is how long buyers outside China will have to wait to get one.
