Redmi will launch the K90 Ultra in China on June 30, 2026, at 7:00 PM local time, with an 8,550mAh battery — the largest ever fitted in an Ultra-series gaming phone — alongside a built-in active cooling fan that Redmi claims drops device temperature by up to 10°C in 100 seconds.

The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the same chip inside this year’s Samsung Galaxy S25 and OnePlus 13. Redmi has confirmed a price in the CNY 3,000 segment, roughly $440, making it one of the most aggressively priced gaming phones with flagship silicon in the market right now.
Display, Performance and Gaming Features
The K90 Ultra has a 6.83-inch display confirmed at 165Hz with up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. It carries a D2 dedicated gaming graphics chip, e-sports touch controls, and gaming audio optimisation on top of the Snapdragon’s own gaming performance layer.
The active cooling fan is the most unusual hardware decision here. Most gaming phones manage heat through large vapour chamber setups. Redmi is adding a mechanical fan on top of that. The company claims this combination lets the K90 Ultra match or outperform devices with the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in sustained gaming loads.
Battery and Charging
The 8,550mAh cell pairs with 100W wired fast charging and bypass charging support — which lets the phone run directly off the charger during heavy gaming sessions without drawing down the battery at all. For multi-hour gaming, that’s a practical difference most battery benchmarks don’t capture.
The phone is also fully dust and waterproof to a dual-grade standard, which is unusual for a gaming-focused device at this price point.
When and Where to Buy
The Redmi K90 Ultra launches June 30 in China. Redmi’s K-series has historically stayed China-exclusive, though grey market availability in India and Southeast Asia typically follows within weeks of a Chinese release.
A gaming phone with an 8,550mAh battery at $440 says something clear about how fast the mid-range gaming smartphone segment is moving.
