Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games confirmed Star Wars Zero Company will launch on August 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A new gameplay trailer released alongside the date announcement showed Anakin Skywalker appearing in the game for the first time.
Zero Company is a single-player turn-based tactics game set during the Clone Wars. Players take on the role of Hawks, a former Republic officer who assembles a crew of mercenaries and misfits to protect the galaxy from an emerging threat. Combat plays out from a top-down perspective, with players issuing movement and attack commands to squad members in sequence.
The game is being developed by Bit Reactor, a studio founded by former XCOM developers. Player choices shape both the narrative direction and the squad’s capabilities. Building bonds between characters over time unlocks new abilities, while a base-building system lets players deploy intelligence operatives to learn about enemy movements before missions.
Bit Reactor was established in 2021 and has been working with Lucasfilm Games since 2022. The Clone Wars setting allows for appearances by major characters from the animated series and films. Anakin Skywalker’s appearance in the trailer generated significant response online in the hours following the reveal, with fans flagging the moment on social media as one of the highlights of the Summer Game Fest showcase. The tactical genre has seen renewed interest alongside titles like Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
Pre-orders for Zero Company are open now. The game will be available in a standard edition and a digital deluxe edition, which includes additional cosmetic content. Exact pricing has not been announced beyond what is listed on storefront pages.
The August 27 date puts the game up against a busy late-summer release window. A Nintendo Switch 2 version has not been confirmed. Electronic Arts released the full press announcement via the EA press hub, which includes a breakdown of gameplay mechanics and the story premise.
