Tilly Norwood, the AI performer who sparked outrage in Hollywood last year, is set to lead her first feature film. The comedy-drama Misaligned comes from Particle6, the AI studio that created Norwood in the first place.

The film is described as a coming-of-age story infused with what Particle6 calls existential AI chaos. It follows Tilly, an artificial being with no body, no childhood, and no lived experience, only access to everyone else’s memories. A rogue bot from the dark web convinces her to abandon her safety guardrails and develop desires, impulses, and ambitions.

A Hybrid Production

Particle6 insists Misaligned is designed as a hybrid production using traditional film and TV professionals alongside AI specialists. The team includes directors, writers, and editors working with AI technicians, though specific names have not been announced yet.

The studio describes the setting as the Tillyverse, a surreal digital world located somewhere in the cloud. That framing sidesteps the uncanny valley problem of trying to make an AI look convincingly human. Instead, Particle6 leans into artificiality as the central aesthetic.

Industry Backlash

When Norwood first appeared in late 2025, the entertainment industry pushed back hard. SAG-AFTRA stated that Norwood is not an actor and that creativity should remain human-centered. Filmmakers, writers, and actors all voiced concern that digital performers would displace human jobs.

This project will likely reignite that debate. Particle6 has not announced when Misaligned will release or whether it will seek theatrical distribution.

The film marks a test case for whether audiences and studios can separate the politics of AI labor from curiosity about what AI-generated performance actually looks like on screen.
