vivo OriginOS 7 Preview Centers on Faster Interface Before September Reveal

By Hasnat JubaerSeptember 5, 20262 Mins Read

vivo OriginOS 7 will be unveiled on September 16 at the company’s annual vivo Developer Conference. The Android 17-based software is expected to bring a redesigned interface, performance changes and new tools for vivo phones. vivo has not yet published the complete device-support list or a wider rollout schedule.

The most visible change is a new visual system built around translucent materials, lighting effects and liquid-style animations. vivo is also preparing Liquid Themes for the lock screen and a system-wide sticker library. These details describe the interface shown or teased before the event, while the final feature list will be confirmed at the launch.

vivo says OriginOS 7 will use an upgraded Blue River Smooth Engine to improve several parts of the phone experience. The company claims graphics rendering will be 14 percent faster, page switching will improve by up to 19 percent and app startup will be up to 12 percent quicker. Those are manufacturer claims and still need independent testing on retail phones.

Power use is another part of the preview. vivo says its updated heterogeneous-computing architecture can reduce energy consumption by about 20 percent during situations involving interface animation and screen rendering. The company also describes changes to memory management and data channels, but it has not provided a full technical test method that would allow the claims to be compared with OriginOS 6.

The update will also introduce Storage Compression 2.0, according to current coverage from Gadgets 360. vivo says the feature could free up to 20GB on a phone with 256GB of built-in storage, although the result will depend on the device and the data stored on it. Atomic Workbench is another planned addition, with vivo describing it as a way to organize tasks and interactions on traditional candybar phones.

BlueOS 4 will appear at the same developer conference. That platform is intended for vivo wearables, smart-home products and other Internet of Things devices, giving the event a broader software focus than a phone interface alone. For OriginOS 7, the key date is September 16, when vivo should clarify compatible models, any beta program and the timing for stable releases. Until then, the confirmed story is an upcoming Android 17-based unveiling, not a completed update rollout.
