Vivo launched the T5e in India at Rs 13,999 for the single 4GB RAM plus 64GB storage variant. The phone runs OriginOS 6 on Android 16 and is now available through the Vivo online store, Flipkart, and offline retail.
The T5e targets buyers who want long battery life and durability over flashy specs. At this price point, Vivo is competing directly with Redmi and Realme for India’s largest smartphone segment: first-time buyers and budget upgraders.
What You Actually Get
The 6.74-inch HD+ display runs at 90Hz, which keeps scrolling smooth without pushing into flagship territory. The single 8-megapixel rear camera is basic by 2026 standards, but Vivo is clearly betting that most buyers in this segment care more about battery and durability than camera megapixels.
That’s where the T5e tries to stand out. The 5,500mAh battery claims 18 hours of video playback, 47 hours of music, and 28 hours of voice calls on a single charge. For buyers who charge once every two days, that’s a real selling point.
The phone is powered by the octa-core Unisoc T7225 chipset on a 12nm process, paired with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM. It won’t win benchmark comparisons, but everyday tasks—calls, messaging, browsing, video—should run fine.
Built to Survive Daily Use
The T5e carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, plus military-grade durability certification. That combination matters more in India’s budget segment than people admit. Phones here get dropped, get rained on, and get passed around a household. A phone that survives that reality earns loyalty.
15W Charging in a 90W World
The T5e supports only 15W fast charging, slow by 2026 standards where many rivals hit 45W or higher. Vivo is banking on the bigger battery reducing how often you need to charge at all, rather than competing on charging speed.
At Rs 13,999, the T5e isn’t trying to impress spec sheets. It’s trying to survive a full day without a charger nearby.
