Vivo X300 Starts at $647 With 200MP Camera and MediaTek 9500 Chip

By Alamgir HossainJuly 28, 20262 Mins Read

Vivo’s X300 starts at $647 in the US, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset and built around a 200MP main camera paired with two 50MP lenses. The phone runs Android 16 with a 6.31-inch AMOLED display at 120Hz.

The X300 sits at the entry point of Vivo’s flagship line, with the X300 Pro starting at $779 and the X300 Ultra reaching $1,099 and above. Vivo is spreading its camera-first flagship strategy across three price tiers rather than betting everything on one device.

The Camera Is the Whole Pitch

A 200MP main sensor backed by dual 50MP lenses is a serious camera setup for a phone starting under $700. Vivo has built its flagship reputation almost entirely on imaging quality, partnering with Zeiss on optics tuning across the X series for several generations now.

The 50MP front camera matches the ambition. Most flagship competitors still ship 12MP or 32MP selfie cameras. Vivo is betting that front-camera quality matters as much to buyers as the rear setup, especially in markets where social content drives phone purchases.

Power and Battery

The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 is one of the strongest chipsets available outside Qualcomm’s top Snapdragon tier. Paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage in higher configurations, the X300 handles demanding apps and multitasking without hesitation.

A 6,040mAh battery with 90W fast charging rounds out the package. That combination—big battery, fast charging—addresses the two most common flagship complaints: dying by evening and waiting too long to recharge.

Where It Fits in the Market

At $647, the X300 undercuts Samsung‘s Galaxy S26 and Apple’s iPhone lineup while matching or exceeding their camera specs on paper. Vivo’s challenge remains brand recognition outside Asia, where Samsung and Apple still dominate mindshare regardless of spec sheets.

Vivo keeps proving it can build the camera. The harder problem is convincing buyers outside its home markets to notice.
