The world of *Money Heist* is still drawing large audiences years after the original Spanish crime drama became a global breakout on Netflix. The latest chapter, *Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine*, has quickly climbed the platform’s international rankings, renewing attention around whether another installment could follow.

The series, centered on Andrés de Fonollosa — better known to viewers as Berlin — is currently the most-watched non-English show on Netflix this week, according to the information provided. The prequel has also reached the number one position in 14 countries, recording 6.2 million views during the same period.
Despite that momentum, Netflix has not announced a continuation. There is currently no official confirmation regarding a third season of *Berlin*, though the naming structure of the franchise means each installment carries its own subtitle rather than a traditional seasonal label.
That uncertainty has not slowed discussion among viewers familiar with the broader *Money Heist* universe. Berlin remained one of the franchise’s most recognizable figures even after the original series concluded its story around the Royal Mint of Spain heist led by The Professor and his team of city-named thieves.
The prequel shifts the focus years earlier, exploring Berlin’s criminal past through standalone operations built around elaborate thefts and personal rivalries. The first installment followed a jewel robbery in Paris involving royal treasures valued at $44 million.
In *Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine*, the character reunites his crew for another carefully planned operation, this time tied to a Leonardo da Vinci painting. The story expands beyond the artwork itself after the Duke of Málaga attempts to manipulate Berlin into stealing the piece on his behalf.
Instead, Berlin redirects the scheme toward the duke’s hidden fortune, setting off a chain of deception, revenge, romance, and betrayal. The series closes its central storyline within the season, leaving no unresolved cliffhanger tied directly to the heist.
The cast includes Pedro Alonso returning as Berlin alongside Tristán Ulloa as Damián, Michelle Jenner as Keila, Begoña Vargas as Cameron, Julio Peña Fernández as Roi, Joel Sánchez as Bruce, Inma Cuesta as Candela, José Luis García-Pérez as Álvaro Hermoso de Medina, and Marta Nieto as Genoveva Dante.

For now, Netflix appears to be taking time to assess audience performance before making a decision on another chapter. While no future project has been confirmed, the continued popularity of the character suggests the franchise still holds a place in the platform’s international lineup.
