Simple Energy prepares Wave electric scooters for India’s city riders

By Saleh MohammadSeptember 6, 20263 Mins Read

Simple Energy is preparing its Simple Energy Wave e-scooter family for a wider push in India. Autocar Professional reports that the company is moving beyond the One and One S Gen2 models with the Wave S and Wave+. The company’s product page lists different range and speed figures for the two variants.

Simple Energy Wave e-scooter

Simple’s official page gives the Wave+ an IDC range of 243 kilometers and a top speed of 90 kilometers per hour. It lists 70 liters of storage. The same page lists the Wave S with a 132-kilometer range and a 75-kilometer-per-hour top speed.

IDC figures are test-cycle estimates, not a promise of the distance every rider will cover. Speed, rider weight, traffic, temperature and hills can all reduce real-world range. Buyers should compare the test figure with their normal route and charging access rather than treating it as a daily guarantee.

The storage figure is one of the practical selling points. A large under-seat area can make an electric scooter more useful for shopping, commuting and carrying a helmet. The final usable space and the shape of the compartment still matter, so customers should check the physical layout before buying.

Autocar says Simple Energy crossed 10,000 cumulative sales in 2026 for its One family. It reports that the company is positioning the Wave line as a more accessible option. The report does not establish a final price for every Wave model or confirm the exact delivery schedule for each city.

Simple’s own material also emphasizes connected features and an electric powertrain. Those features can reduce routine fuel and maintenance costs, but they add software and battery systems that need reliable service. Warranty coverage, charging equipment and parts supply will shape the ownership experience.

The Wave range gives buyers two different priorities. The Wave S is the lower-speed option with a shorter claimed range. The Wave+ aims at riders who want more range and storage. That split may help customers choose by use case instead of paying for equipment they will not need.

Electric-scooter buyers should also check charging time, battery warranty and support in their area. A long test range has limited value if a rider cannot charge at home or get help quickly. Those details were not fully set out in the product-page information reviewed for this report.

Simple Energy’s official specifications support the stated range, speed and storage figures. Autocar provides the current industry context around the company’s sales and lineup. Final prices, availability and local registration requirements should be confirmed with Simple Energy before purchase.
