Sony has unveiled a limited edition PlayStation 5 console built around Marvel’s Wolverine, the upcoming action game from Insomniac Games. The bundle pairs a PS5 Digital Edition console with a special DualSense controller and a copy of the game, priced at $649.99.

The design pulls directly from the game itself. Claw-mark slashes run across the console’s cover plates. Wolverine’s face is etched into the panel artwork, too, according to details Sony shared on the PlayStation Blog.

Two DualSense controller variants come with the wider collection. A yellow “Battle Yellow” edition ships bundled with the console. A gray “Adamantium” edition is sold separately and matches an exclusive cover for the PS5 Pro. Controllers cost $84.99 each, and matching console covers run $74.99.

Preorders open August 19 at 10 a.m. local time in the United States, with buyers across Europe able to order starting the same day at their own local time. Sony said the hardware will be sold through the PlayStation Store and select retail partners.

The console and accessories launch September 15, 2026, the same day as Marvel’s Wolverine itself. Insomniac Games, the studio behind the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, developed the title. Players take on the role of Logan in a story built around mutant survival, new allies, and returning adversaries.

Fan reaction on gaming forums has leaned positive. Members of Reddit‘s r/PS5 community called it the first true yellow DualSense release. Some noted the console was originally planned as a disc edition before Sony switched it to digital only. The claw marks are now explained as Wolverine tearing off the disc drive himself.

Sony has released several Marvel-branded PS5 hardware editions in recent years, tied to titles including Spider-Man 2. The Wolverine bundle extends that run ahead of the game’s September launch, giving Sony another marketing push heading into the holiday shopping season. Sony and other console makers have leaned on high-profile game reveals all year, including Kingdom Hearts 4 gameplay trailer shown at Nintendo Direct in June.
