Farmtrac has expanded its Indian tractor line with two PROMAXX 2.0 models and a 55-horsepower 6055 Classic Dark Edition. The Farmtrac PROMAXX 2.0 tractors add new choices in the 47HP and 50HP classes, while the Dark Edition brings a black finish to the higher-power 6055 platform. Escorts Kubota announced the products as the Farmtrac brand marks 30 years in India.

Autocar Professional and CMV360 reported the launch on September 2. The new products are offered in two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions. That gives buyers a choice between a simpler layout for suitable conditions and the extra traction of a driven front axle when field work, soil or an attached implement demands it.

The 6055 Classic Dark Edition uses a four-cylinder, 3,682cc engine with a company-quoted maximum torque of 247Nm. It has a hydraulic lift capacity of 2,500kg, LED lighting and a heat shield. Farmtrac positions the tractor for jobs such as super seeding, laser levelling, reversible mould-board ploughing, rotavation, harrowing and heavy haulage.

The PROMAXX 2.0 range is aimed at a slightly lower power band. The 47 HT PROMAXX and 50 PROMAXX use a 3,514cc High Torque engine that produces up to 230Nm, according to the launch reports. Both models have a 12-forward, three-reverse gearbox, a creeper-speed option and a flat operator platform. Four-wheel drive is available for applications where traction is more important than the lowest purchase price.

A creeper gear is useful when a tractor needs to move slowly while driving an implement. Low ground speed can help with planting or other careful operations, but the value depends on the implement, soil and operator settings.
