The Xiaomi Redmi 17C 5G has emerged as a budget smartphone built around a large display, 5G connectivity and a 6,000mAh battery. Xiaomi’s regional product page confirms the main hardware features, while Spanish newspaper Cinco Días reported that the phone was available in Spain at €239.99 on Aug. 27.

The official Xiaomi France product page lists a 6.9-inch display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The panel uses a 1,600 by 720 resolution, and Xiaomi also lists TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light, flicker-free operation and circadian-friendly viewing. The page describes the phone as using an adaptive refresh rate for compatible applications.

Battery capacity is one of the Redmi 17C 5G’s headline specifications. Xiaomi lists a 6,000mAh battery and support for 33W fast charging. The company’s regional information gives laboratory-based endurance figures and says the battery is designed to retain at least 80% capacity after 1,000 full charging cycles. Those figures are manufacturer claims, so real-world battery life will depend on network use, brightness, software and other conditions.

The smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 mobile platform, according to Xiaomi. The official specifications list an octa-core chip built on a 6nm process and memory options based on 4GB of RAM with a memory-extension feature that can take the advertised available memory to 8GB. Storage begins at 128GB on the listed regional specification page and can be expanded with a microSD card, although configurations may vary by market.

For cameras, Xiaomi lists a 50-megapixel main rear sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera. The phone also includes Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, dual SIM support, FM radio through the headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Xiaomi’s page lists HyperOS 3 as the operating system and says the handset supports selected Xiaomi interconnectivity features.

The Redmi 17C 5G has an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, not full immersion protection. Xiaomi’s own warning says liquid resistance can weaken through daily use and that the phone should not be submerged or charged in a wet environment. Cinco Días described the device as a low-cost 5G model available in Spain for €239.99. The confirmed story is therefore a regional budget-phone debut with a 120Hz screen and large battery; buyers should check local bands, memory options, price and availability before treating the Spanish listing as a price for another market.
