Sonyâs next flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia 1 VIII, has appeared early on Amazon storefronts in both Germany and the UK, offering the clearest indication yet of the companyâs launch timeline and possible pricing strategy for the device.

The listings, which surfaced ahead of any formal announcement from Sony, point to a June 26 release date. They also show unusually high prices attached to the handset: âŦ1,868.99 in Germany and ÂŖ1,728 in the UK.
At this stage, however, the figures should be treated cautiously. Early retail listings often rely on placeholder pricing before manufacturers finalize regional costs, and retailers sometimes estimate launch values internally before receiving confirmed information. In this case, both listings reportedly include a bundled pair of Sony WH1000XM6 headphones, which may partially explain the elevated totals shown online.
Even so, the appearance of the listings offers an early look at what Sony is preparing for its next Xperia flagship.
According to the retailer information, the Xperia 1 VIII will feature a 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Sony appears to be continuing its focus on multimedia hardware, while retaining several features that have gradually disappeared from much of the premium smartphone market.
The phone is listed with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 16mm ultrawide camera, a 24mm main camera, and a newly introduced 70mm telephoto camera. The listings also reference âXperia AI,â though no further details were provided about what functions or software features that branding may cover.
Sony is also said to be keeping the 3.5mm headphone jack on the Xperia 1 VIII, a feature that has remained part of the Xperia line even as most flagship competitors have abandoned it. The retailer descriptions further mention a â2-day batteryâ claim, though battery capacity and charging specifications were not included.
Color options listed include Graphite Black, Iolite Silver, and Garnet Red.
The Amazon pages reportedly did not include official product images. Existing renders circulating online, originating from an earlier leak, suggest Sony may be redesigning the camera island on the rear of the device, though the retailer listings themselves offered no visual confirmation.
Sony has not publicly commented on the listings or confirmed the information they contain. Until the company formally unveils the Xperia 1 VIII, details surrounding final pricing, bundled offers, and hardware specifications remain subject to change.
