Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 8 Holds Steady on Second Friday

By Sibbir OsmanJanuary 30, 20263 Mins Read

The border 2 box office collection day 8 update shows stable numbers at the domestic box office on Friday. The Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan-led war drama maintained steady occupancy across major centres on January 30, 2026.

After a massive extended opening weekend, the film faced expected weekday drops. However, early trends on the second Friday suggest momentum is building again ahead of the weekend.

Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 8 Performance Update

Border 2 opened to strong numbers during its four-day extended weekend, driven by the Republic Day holiday. The film collected around Rs 175 crore nett in its opening phase, setting a high base for the weekdays that followed.

On Tuesday, the film recorded nearly Rs 20 crore nett, helped by discounted ticket offers. This was considered a solid hold, even though Republic Day collections on Monday naturally stayed higher due to the national holiday.

Wednesday and Thursday saw comparatively sharper drops. This raised some concern for trade watchers, especially given the franchise’s long-term expectations. Despite this, the overall domestic total already places Border 2 firmly in the hit category.

On day 8, occupancy levels improved when compared with Thursday. Morning shows reported only a marginal dip, while afternoon shows began to show an upward trend. Evening and night shows were stronger across several circuits, including mass belts.

Early estimates for the second Friday place the border 2 box office collection day 8 figure in the range of Rs 8 to 10 crore nett. If the film touches double digits, it will be seen as a very healthy sign going into the second weekend.

The release of Mardaani 3 has added some competition, particularly in multiplexes. However, Border 2 continues to dominate single-screen theatres, where footfalls remain consistent.

At present, Border 2 is tracking towards a solid second weekend total of approximately Rs 30 to 35 crore nett. Strong jumps on Saturday and Sunday could push the weekend numbers even higher.

Box Office Trend and Franchise Outlook

Border 2 has already crossed the hit benchmark comfortably at the domestic box office. Trade expectations suggest the film is also likely to achieve super hit status in the coming days.

For the franchise, the long-term target remains significantly higher. To enter the blockbuster bracket, the film would need to cross the Rs 500 crore nett mark in India. Based on current trends, this milestone appears challenging but not entirely out of reach if weekend growth sustains.

The steady hold on day 8 indicates that audience interest has not faded. Positive word of mouth in mass circuits continues to support collections, especially during evening shows.

Overall, the border 2 box office collection day 8 figures underline the film’s strong theatrical run. With a stable second Friday and encouraging weekend trends, Border 2 remains one of the most successful releases of 2026 so far.
