Motorola has set April 22 as the launch date for its upcoming Edge 70 Pro, ending a brief run of teasers with a clearer picture of what the device will bring to market. The phone is slated to go on sale in India through Flipkart, the companyâs own online store, and offline retail channels.

Details shared ahead of the launch point to a device positioned around performance and imaging. At its core sits the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Motorola is also highlighting thermal management, with a 4,600 mm² vapor cooling chamber intended to handle sustained workloads.
The display appears to be a central feature. The Edge 70 Pro will carry a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate reaching 144Hz. Resolution is set at 1.5K, while peak brightness is claimed to go up to 5,200 nits, suggesting an emphasis on outdoor visibility and high-contrast viewing.
Camera hardware follows a similar pattern of headline numbers. The rear setup includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor identified as Sony Lytia 710 with optical image stabilization, alongside a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit. On the front, Motorola is fitting another 50-megapixel camera. The system is complemented by a multispectral sensor, though the company has not expanded on its role.
Battery capacity stands at 6,500mAh, supported by 90W fast charging. Software will ship with Android 16, and Motorola has committed to three years of operating system updates along with five years of security patches.
Durability and audio features round out the package. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, and the device carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. Hi-Res audio support and Dolby Atmos are also part of the offering.
