Xiaomi 18 Fold brings a 200MP camera and 6,000mAh battery to China

By Abul KalamSeptember 15, 20262 Mins Read

Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China with a wide foldable design, a 200MP main camera and a 6,000mAh battery. The phone’s September 7 debut was covered by TechRadar and El País, which reported the model’s camera, processor, storage and China availability.

The design is different from a tall book-style foldable. Xiaomi uses a shorter and wider shape that is intended to feel more like a passport when closed. The approach gives the outer screen a broader look, while the inner display opens into a larger workspace for video, reading and multitasking.

The phone uses Xiaomi’s XRING O3 processor and offers up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Its main camera is a Leica-branded 200MP unit. The reported camera system also supports up to seven-times zoom while keeping image quality close to the optical result, although final image quality will depend on the shooting mode and lighting.

Xiaomi lists 8K video recording at 24 frames per second and 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. There are 16MP front cameras associated with the inner and outer displays, so users can use a front-facing camera whether the phone is open or closed.

The battery is unusually large for a foldable. Xiaomi 18 Fold supports 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. A large battery can help offset the power demands of two screens, but it can also add weight. The phone weighs about 219 grams, according to launch coverage.

Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and NFC. The phone uses a USB-C port with USB 3.2 Gen 2 support. These specifications put the device in the premium segment, but Xiaomi has not announced a broad global rollout in the available launch information.

For now, the Xiaomi 18 Fold is a China-market foldable with a wide format, 200MP Leica camera, XRING O3 chip and 6,000mAh cell. International buyers should not assume that the same model will launch locally. Xiaomi’s regional announcements will determine whether the device becomes a direct option outside China.
